Since 24 July 2025 there is one mandatory format for the public training-content summary every GPAI provider must publish — a standard artefact to request in AI vendor due diligence.
What changed
On 24 July 2025 the Commission published the template, with explanatory notice, for the public summary of training content that providers of general-purpose AI models must make publicly available under Article 53(1)(d) of the AI Act. The template sets a common minimal baseline for what must be disclosed about the data used to train a model, in a common format across providers, and is available in all official EU languages.
Why it matters
Training-data transparency stopped being free-form: there is now one format, so summaries can be compared across suppliers. For buyers this creates a concrete due-diligence artefact — a supplier without a published summary in the template format has a visible gap against a live obligation.
Who is affected
Providers of general-purpose AI models, who must publish the summary; and the compliance and procurement teams on the buying side, for whom the published summary becomes a standard vendor-file document.

What to check next
- Providers: prepare the public summary in the template format and confirm where it is published
- Buyers: identify each GPAI model in your stack and request its published training-content summary
- Compare supplier summaries against the template's baseline and document gaps in the vendor assessment
- Review the explanatory notice for how the Commission expects the sections to be completed
